A stand up paddleboarder -SUP was recently taken out by a runaway jetski in Australia. For those who missed this, it’s unclear on the full details, but it seems a coast guard’s ‘personal water craft’ got the better of him as he negotiated the surf on the Gold Coast. The PWC then set off on a mission. But instead of heading for the one of the many great surf breaks it headed direct for the SUP pro named ‘Dave’ – mercilessly ploughing him down.
Divine intervention or a freak accident we’ll leave that to your take on SUP’ing. Dave did end up in hospital with a broken leg and full ‘respect’ for PWC’s without drivers!
